CORTE, TOWN OF ALL ERAS

Corte, is the island’s historical capital, a university town and a hub of activity, it’s young and dynamic but also has the feel of a large village. Wander around the picturesque old streets at the end of the afternoon and soak up the atmosphere, with the rocky citadel towering above. You can visit the anthropology museum, where the architecture beautifully integrates the old with the new. Pick up the Qr code for the patrimony trail, or take part in the family treasure hunt devised by Altipiani. Don’t forget to taste the local specialties made with Corsican brocciu cheese, falculelle, fiadone.…For those of you that consider a sweet treat part of the holiday, call in at Chez Marie, in the church square for an artisanal sorbet. If you are enjoying a shop on the main street, look out for the excellent chocolatière, Alesia Santini. Why not have your evening meal in the old town before heading back to the hotel for a night cap, or a tisane and snuggle up on the river terrace.
